Back when I started planning this Construction Party, I mentioned my dislike of food in goodie bags. So many times, my kids get food in goodie bags which they insist on eating before we even get home from the party. I struggled finding an idea of what to put in the goodie bag for my son’s upcoming construction themed party. After a lot of online searching, I figured a small construction vehicle would be perfect. I am thrilled with the Construction Party Goodie Bags I put together!
I am expecting about 20 kids and I set a budget to keep each goodie bag to around $3.00-$4.00 per child.

Toy that fits the Construction Theme:
I searched in a few stores, but couldn’t find a small enough toy that was reasonably priced. So I ended up on Amazon. I found these toys that in packs of 4 for $11.97, which comes to three dollars a toy. The toys are great, my son instantly starting playing with them and the toys have survived his rough play. These toys are the perfect size for a soon to be four year old. Each package comes with 4 vehicles- different colors and different types of construction vehicles. The little driver even moves when you push the vehicle on the ground. For the price, I think this is a really great quality toy for a goodie bag.
Kinetic Sand goes with Construction Theme:
The vehicle just didn’t seem like enough (to me at least, as I have been completely overthinking and overplaying these goodie bags). Thinking in theme, I thought a small container of play sand would be perfect for the kids to play with their new construction vehicle. I purchased the below eggs filled with Kinetic Sand. For 20 eggs, it came to just about a dollar per egg. This was the best price I found after checking with several stores for similar products. I like that the sand was already filled inside individual containers, less work for me to package up in the goodie bags.
Putting together the Construction Party Goodie Bags:
To put the bags together, I purchased some small plastic bags, used some yellow curling ribbon and small thank you tags (here is the link from Amazon) I had purchased for a prior party. I put the vehicle and egg into the plastic bag, and tied with the yellow curling ribbon. I made sure to leave enough ribbon to curl the ends. I attached the tags with curling ribbon. I am really happy with the results.

At the end, each bag came to around $4.00 a bag, which is on the higher end of what I wanted to spend, but the bags came out so cute! I am excited to hand out these great construction themed goodie bags at my son’s party!
