I wanted to garden for some time but as I was afraid to, as I wrote in a previous post. One reason I was faired was destroying my grass. For that reason, when I started gardening, I started with a raised planter bed on my patio. I have had this raised planted bed for 3 years now and wanted to share my thoughts on this Keter Easy raised planter purchased from Amazon.
Here is my beautiful Keter Easy raised planter bed full of herbs:

I started my first garden with a raised garden bed. That is it. I literally don’t think I even had a shovel when I started. Here is a link to the one I purchased from Amazon.
After three years using, I think this is a great growing vehicle to start out or if you have a small space. I now use as an herb garden, which has been amazing. My herbs are close to my house on the deck and safe from rabbits and groundhogs.
Keep in mind with a raised planter bed like this that you are limited in space. This may be obvious to most people, but I tried growing way to many plants in this garden my first year and it didn’t work out too well. (I had a lot to learn about gardening that first year, I can’t blame the raised planter bed) Now, I focus on growing mostly herbs in the garden.
Currently in the garden I have several basil plants, parsley, rosemary, green onions and several carrots growing. I probably have room for one more herb if I wanted to. This raised planter bed can be used to grow a lot!
Three years of using the Keter Easy raised planter bed
I love the Keter Easy raised planter bed. It shipped from Amazon and arrived in great condition. It was light enough I was able to bring the box to the backyard myself. It was easy to put together.
My one issue with this raised planter bed is that an internal bar that I believe must be to help keep the shape broke the first year I had it. Other than that internal bar- this raised planter bed has held up really well and the shape of the raised planter bed has not changed at all.
The color has not faded on the raised garden bed. The bed really looks the same as the day I put it together. I note that I do not cover it or move during the Jersey winters. I am very happy with how this planter looks after three years of use.
More benefits to growing in a raised planter bed.
Another benefit of raised planter beds in general is that if you are worried about garden critters (like my huge neighborhood rabbits and ground hogs), you do not have to worry about plants with this bed. Also, you do not have to bend down to garden with a raised bed.

I think raised garden beds are a great option for a new gardener or someone with limited space to grow. I am very happy with the one I purchased from Amazon and would consider adding a second one to my garden to grow my herb garden in the future. If you would like to check out the bed: Here is a link to the one I purchased from Amazon.
